All About Iceland

Iceland, a beautiful country off the southwestern coast of Greenland, also a country about the size of Kentucky, USA. It was formed by a series of volcanic eruptions. Speaking of volcanoes, the country contains of thirty-five active volcanoes. Crazy, huh?

Iceland is known to be one of the most distinct and beautiful landscapes in the world. With 332,000 people to enjoy it! The people of Iceland speak Icelandic and English as their official languages. The religion there is mainly Christain. The beautiful country has a nickname of "Land of Fire and Ice".

Let's get to know some of the (main) animals that roam the Land of Fire and Ice. Puffins, sheep, and Icelandic horses are those animals. If you want to look up some pictures of any of these animals. Just type their names up in the google search bar!

Enough about landscapes, and animals. Want to learn some fun facts? Here they are: It would be a 5.5 hour flight from NY/ USA to Iceland. That's not very long in my opinion! Another fact is, the education there is FREE of charge. That would be amazing to not pay for any education! The country also contains geysers. They're pretty cool.

I hope you enjoyed learning about Iceland. Here are the links that I used. www.kids-world-travel-guide.com, icelandreview.com, and the app "Barefoot Atlas", you can find that on Mrs. Bronn's Social Studies folder, on the iPads she provides us. :
